Why is my baby spitting?
The mouth of the esophagus in the stomach is closed by the so-called gastric gatekeeper. Babies are immature at this point, but this is normal so that it cannot close properly in the first months of life. Since breast milk and baby food are thin, it can flow back very easily. Sometimes babies also consume more food than necessary. By spitting, they free themselves from an overfilled stomach.
Other causes and what you can do about it
Too fast and hasty drinking> If you have the impression that your child is one of the hasty drinkers, the child should be breastfed or fed immediately at the first signs of hunger. It can also be helpful to have the baby pause once or twice while drinking.
The child is moved too much after drinking> Do not move the child too much. If possible, wrap your child before drinking.

Too big suction hole in the bottle> Buy a smaller suction cup size, sometimes a tea suction cup can help.
After drinking, position the child's upper body a little higher, for example with a small wedge pillow.
